Il Research Network for the History of European Periodicals si dedica allo studio interdisciplinare dei periodici e dei giornali pubblicati in Italia e in Europa dal XVIII secolo a oggi e si propone di stimolare, a livello internazionale, la ricerca sul giornalismo europeo in prospettiva letteraria, storica e linguistica, coinvolgendo molteplici settori (erudito, enciclopedico, spettatoriale, divulgativo etc.).

Il gruppo di ricerca si dedica alla promozione e alla diffusione degli studi sui periodici europei in vari ambiti, tra cui:

lo studio delle tradizioni discorsive che hanno caratterizzato il giornalismo sin dal Settecento (prototipi, generi e stili giornalistici; formati di critica e dibattito pubblico, come la polemica e la querelle);
il ruolo delle traduzioni e dei traduttori nello sviluppo del giornalismo europeo (historical translation studies e historical translator studies);
le funzioni rivestite dalla lettera sia all’interno dei periodici sia nell’evoluzione e nel processo di diversificazione dei giornali stessi (l’uso della lettera nei periodici; epistolari e periodici come ‘social analogici’).

The Research Network for the History of European Periodicals is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of periodicals and newspapers published in Italy and Europe from the 18th century to the present day and aims to stimulate research on European journalism from a literary, historical and linguistic perspective at an international level, involving multiple fields (erudite, encyclopaedic, spectator-type, popular etc.).

The research group is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of studies on European periodicals in various fields, including:

the study of the discursive traditions that have characterised journalism since the 18th century (journalistic prototypes, genres and styles; formats of criticism and public debate, such as the polemic and the querelle);
the role of translations and translators in the development of European journalism (historical translation studies and historical translator studies);
the functions played by the letter both within periodicals and in the evolution and diversification of newspapers themselves (the use of the letter in periodicals; epistolary and periodicals as ‘analogue social networks’).

Le Research Network for the History of European Periodicals se consacre à l’étude interdisciplinaire des périodiques et journaux publiés en Italie et en Europe, du XVIIIe siècle à nos jours. Le projet souhaite stimuler, au niveau international, la recherche sur le journalisme européen, d’un point de vue littéraire, historique et linguistique, dans de multiples domaines (écrits d’érudits, encyclopédiques, spectatoriel, de vulgarisation, etc.).

Le groupe de recherche se consacre à la promotion et à la diffusion d’études sur les périodiques européens de divers domaines, dont :

l’étude des traditions discursives qui ont caractérisé le journalisme depuis le XVIIIe siècle (prototypes, genres et styles journalistiques ; formats critiques et débats publics, comme la polémique et la querelle) ;
le rôle des traductions et des traducteurs dans le développement du journalisme européen (historical translation studies et historical translator studies) ;

Das Research Network for the History of European Periodicals widmet sich der interdisziplinären Erforschung von Zeitschriften und Zeitungen, die in Italien und Europa vom 18. Jahrhundert bis heute erschienen sind und setzte sich zum Ziel, die Forschung über den europäischen Journalismus aus literarischer, historischer und sprachlicher Sicht auf internationaler Ebene anzuregen, wobei mehrere Bereiche (gelehrt, enzyklopädisch, spektatorial, populär usw.) einbezogen werden.

Die Forschungsgruppe widmet sich der Förderung und Verbreitung von Studien über europäische Periodika in verschiedenen Bereichen, darunter:

die Untersuchung der Diskurstraditionen, die den Journalismus seit dem 18. Jahrhundert geprägt haben (journalistische Prototypen, Gattungen und Stile; Formate der Kritik und der öffentlichen Debatte, wie die Polemik und die Querelle)
die Rolle von Übersetzungen und Übersetzern in der Entwicklung des europäischen Journalismus (historical translation studiesund historical translator studies);
die Funktionen, die der Brief sowohl innerhalb der Zeitschriften als auch im Entwicklungs- und Diversifizierungsprozess der Zeitungen selbst spielte (die Verwendung des Briefes in Zeitschriften; Briefe und Zeitschriften als ‚analoge Sozialnetzwerke‘).
